Hi everybody,

I have not added much to this blog since the beginning of the year. I have been busy with new web sites projects. I just completed a web site for a very talented artist, http://www.artalaaimeejo.com. I also designed a web site for a writer who just published Subversive DNA series - http://www.subversivedna.com.

I also designed a web site for a Locksmith Company - http://www.grahsecurity.com

That's two web sites with a blog.

It seems that what "people" want are BLOGS. How funny!

I think blogs are great. It is a wonderful medium to share your ideas, feelings and life.

As a technical stand point, it is always a bonus to add a blog to your web site. It provides great ranking in Search Engines. The only disadvantage is that you have to spend at least few hours a week writing and adding content to it!! Not that easy.

Blogs have a lots of Bells & Whistles such as Feeds, links list, Videos etc...

I strongly recomend Iternet lovers to start a blog. It can be commercial or personal. Templates and look can be easily altered.

Please contact me if you need help with your blog or would like to know more about it.

I think that's all for today.

Take Care,

Sandra

Happy New Year to all of you :-)

It has been a great start. This new year has brought me wonderful projects.

I just completed http://www.purefrozenyogurt.com/. This new and hip self-serve frozen yogurt shop has just opened its doors. I am very pleased to have been chosen to design their "very cool" web site.

I am delighted with the way the web site turned out. The web site is very simple. A calendar and voting/poll feature were added.

The web site is easy to navigate and has terrific colors. A beautiful Photo Gallery allows you to check out the store and its customers. I have added some light flash animation and tried to make the web site as crisp as possible. The site is great and the frozen yogurt looks yummy.....

What are your favorite web sites? I would love to have more activity on this site. Share your ideas with me :-)

I have been away from this blog for a while. The work has been good so I can't complain. I am very busy with web site maintenance for a couple of companies.

My main goal this month will be to learn more about marketing concepts and SEO. Internet Marketing and Search Engines change rapidly. I am going to focus on popularity links and blogs.

Blogs are great. They help with Search Engines. Well, they do! But you have to make it work. It is important to add comments regularly and that is very difficult. I am going to try to maintain this blog a bit more seriously and even add more web design ideas and thoughts to it.

Hello Everyone,

I have completed an online baby store. Here is the link: http://www.lapetiteplayhouse.com/.
I am very please with the way the web site has turned out.

My clients are able to manage their site, add products and manage orders, newsletters, and customers accounts quite easily...

Flash animation was implemented, which adds youth and energy to the site.

The next step is SEO and marketing. Optimization and link popularity is the next step!

Anyway, I have few projects coming up. This is always a good thing!

So stay tune for new projects and don't hesitate to share your thoughts with me :-)

New Projects!

Spring is here. It's tough to stay in front of the PC!

Nevertheless I always find some sort of inspiration. I am actually working on a new project.
It is a web site for a CNC Machining company locates in San Diego. This is very exciting as this industry is totally new to me.

Many engineers use this type of services. This client is a pro of machines and tools of precision.

I am still working on the development of the web site. It takes often multiple phases before the completion of the web site. it is going to be http://www.surreyprecision.com
Hope to have more to share very soon.

And don't forget, a web site is as important as a business card!

How important is it to have someone update your web site?

Unfortunately a lot of web sites out there are never updated with new and current information. People get really picly on how their web site is going to look but never think about the content and how they are going to keep their web site current, interesting and informational.

A web site should always have current and up-to-date information. It's good for your business and it's good for the search engines.

It is true that many web designers try to make their money on web site maintenance and web site updates.

It is really important for people to make sure to know what are the rates for updates and maintenance services for their web site once it has been completed.

As far as I am concerned, I like to offer a web package. I include the hosting and the maintenance in one price for the year. It seems fair.

Of course, you must have a solid contract with the client. How many changes per month and what type of changes will be done each month.

If the changes have to do with the web site layout or graphics then I charge an hourly fee.

Anyway, my advice is to think long term when you get your web site designed.

Have someone that will be able to update your web site on a yearly basis.

If you need more information on my web site services, check

You all take care now.

I am working on a very fun project that hopefully will pay back. I am planning on setting up a directory. It is taking me a while and hard work to develop this project. The structure of the whole web site is what is the most difficult to think.

Everything must be clean and easy to navigate. If you don't have an idea on how your web site will be structured then might as well forget about it.

I like to jet down some ideas on paper. Make a list of all the important web pages and what will appear as a menu on the homepage.

Once you know what links what and how your site map is going to look like you can go wild on the layout.

Hi Everyone,

As a professional web site designer, I have experienced a lot of changes.

I love what I do, but the market is tough. Designing custom web sites is what I do the best. However, it is a struggle to compete against ugly, cheap templates.

Everybody wants to make money, everybody wants to be ranking. The funny thing is that Business owners and independent professionals spend a lot of money perfecting their identity with fancy business cards and complicated brochures.

When it comes to their web sites, nothing matters anymore. It's all about ranking!!

Check some of the Real Estate web sites??

You don't know where to go. You don't know what to read.

Anyway, who's fault is it? Like I have always said, there is only "1" first place on the search engines!

Web site optimization is important, but we must remember web sites'purpose, which is delivering good content and providing a professional and appealing layouts to the visitors.
